Swover Creek Farms

Swover Creek Farms was an outstanding find. Located near Edinburg VA it also has a “middle of nowhere” feel to it. Getting to it was a challenge since Waze got creative on me but the way home was rather easy with Rt 81 only 10 minutes away. It had a big outdoors – no surprise given that it’s also a working farm but it also had a roomy indoors if needed.

Outside they had a Frisbee Golf course that had a few players making the rounds but you can just sit and take in the beauty of the great outdoors. But I didn’t drive all that way to look at cows. I had their Rye IPA and I thought well of it. It was a flavorful beer that came in at 5.5% if I recall correctly. I went with Laurie who generally goes on a rant once she finds that they don’t serve wine but Lady luck was smiling ad she like their draft hard seltzer a lot. A small but welcomed victory.

But that’s not all! Their pizza was outstanding as well. Two things contributed – 1) They cooked it in a wood fired oven and 2) They make their meats on site. We enjoyed their hot Italian sausage pizza.

On the other side of the parking lot they sold their wares including jelly and jams, pepperoni rolls and I also picked up some regular and spicy kielbasa. All of these were excellent. Of course they had more items available but they made a fantastic first impression with the items mentioned.
